The Department of Tax Management and Financial Monitoring was established in January 2021 based on the reorganization of the Department of Accounting in Credit and Budgetary Institutions and Economic Analysis. Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor Liudmyla Hennadiivna Lovinska was appointed as the Head of the Department.

As part of the Kyiv Institute of National Economy (now Vadym Hetman Kyiv National Economic University), the department began its academic and educational activities in June 1964 as the Department of Economic Analysis.

From 2002 to 2020, it was known as the Department of Accounting in Credit and Budgetary Institutions and Economic Analysis.

The educational and research activities of the department today are based on the contributions of Mykola Hryhorovych in the field of economic analysis. In particular, the bachelor’s program “Financial Monitoring and Analysis” and the master’s program “Tax Management and Financial Monitoring in Economic Security” train specialists capable of applying a risk-oriented approach to countering economic crime, the shadow economy, and corporate fraud.

These programs emphasize financial analysis, business relationship and environment analysis, accounting and analytical support for managerial decisions, and other areas that were the focus of Mykola Hryhorovych’s research interests.
